A hydrating hand, foot and leg treatment, which includes a scrub and mask, complements the manicure and pedicure. For the products used in the treatment, choose between two lovely scents – ginger grapefruit and jasmine neroli patchouli. The former helps to whiten and firm the skin, while the latter reduces fine lines and wrinkles.

Shape’s verdict: “What really set this treatment apart from others I’ve tried is the fact that the manicure (non gelish) lasted over a week without chipping. I went oversease just after I did the manicure and pedicure, so my hands and nails were subjected to very dry weather – yet my manicure lasted. Other than that, I enjoyed the pampering experience, the wonderfully scented products, and soothing ambience of the salon.” – Editor, Zarelda

  • 2. Signature Red Carpet Oxygen Facial, $235 (Usual: $380), Freia Aesthetics
    2 / 5 2. Signature Red Carpet Oxygen Facial, $235 (Usual: $380), Freia Aesthetics

This 90-minute facial is different from your typical oxygen facial. Pure oxygen is introduced directly into the skin’s pores and high-quality, nutrient-rich serums are infused into your skin. The serums are layered according to their molecular weight, allowing for better absorption by the skin. Two types of serums are used – one from Intraceuticals and one from Skinceuticals – to boost moisture, suppleness and luminosity.

Shape’s verdict: “The entire experience was relaxing from start to finish. I liked that there was a massage included – that was a nice touch. Results-wise, my skin was visibly more radiant after the treatment.” – Editor, Zarelda

  • 3. Eyebrow Embroidery, $546 (Usual: $780), Dainty Beaute

During the 90-minute session, a German-made micro-needle is used by the therapist to “shape” your eyebrows – small scratches are made on the superficial layer of the skin. This technique ensures that there’s no bleeding during the treatment. In fact, there’s no downtime at all.

(This treatment is available at the special price listed for those who’ve never done eyebrow embroidery and tattooing before, and includes one session plus two follow-up sessions as the colour fades by 30 to 50% after the first session, so customers will have to go for touch-ups to lock in the colour.)

Shape’s verdict: “Bernice, my therapist, was patient and helped to make sure I wasn’t nervous during the treatment. She also shaped my brows with an eyebrow pencil before the treatment, so that I could see what they’d look like. The process was explained to me so that I knew what to expect at every step. The treatment was comfortable and I was given clear instructions on how to take care of my brows. The result? Very natural-looking brows.” – Writer, Dawn

  • 5. Eyelash Extension, $100 (Usual: $160/$150), Graceous at Purvis Street
    5 / 5 5. Eyelash Extension, $100 (Usual: $160/$150), Graceous at Purvis Street

Semi-permanent extensions made of individual synthetic hairs are applied onto your natural lashes. The hairs are glued on individually. There are various Japanese-style lash designs available at this salon and the stylist will choose one based on the look you want to achieve. The treatment takes 90 minutes. The results last about month.

Shape’s verdict: “My stylist Nao (also the director of the salon) was patient and quick to recommend a lash design and curl for me, as I wasn’t sure what I wanted. She also took the liberty to decide on the number of lashes (70 on each side). The treatment took 70 minutes, faster than I’d expected. I could immediately see my new lashes when I opened my eyes. Though I had no makeup on, I felt made up and ready to go for an event. However, I was slightly conscious as I wasn’t used to having such thick lashes. People have complimented me on my lashes. I look like I’m wearing eyeliner and mascara all the time.”- Writer, Estelle
