Pastels are huge this season and these New Balance sneakers will ensure you hit all the right style spots.
When Pantone announced in 2016 that the colour of the year would be Rose Quartz (or as we’d like to call it, millennial pink), we thought “oh okay, that’s cool.” But little did we know that that pastel hue will soon invade everything we’re into – beauty, fashion, furniture and even our choice of office desk decoration. It goes to show that a colour we were apathetic about a few years back is one we can not get enough of with brands churning out products in them. Just like Boston brand New Balance which has released their classic 574 sneakers in five pastel shades – Clear Blue, Daybreak, Faded Rose, Seafoam and White.
Beyond the obvious skew towards a more pleasing colourway (and an instagram friendly one), the formula of the Classic 574 remains the same – a suede and vintage-inspired mesh goes on the sneaker’s upper body whilst rubber outsole with grooved tracks on the bottom ensures comfort with each step and anti-slip.
The Classic 574s in pastel are priced at $119 each.
For those who have magpie syndrome and prefer to let your feet do the talking (make sure that you’re wearing basics to anchor these sneakers down), the Classic 574s also come in a Glitter Punk iteration – rose gold, silver and black with a metallic ‘N’ logo and a sparkly ribbed heel stabiliser to enhance the bling.
But all that sparkles isn’t just your run-of-the-mill pretty shoe because they come with ENCAP1 midsole cushioning. We’re going to put it as simply as possible – they’re the softest soles you’ll ever step into, they retain their “bounce” factor even after repeated wear and they’re durable enough for your every day. Consider us sold.
The Classic 574s in Glitter Punk are priced at $149 each.
The New Balance Classic 574s in pastel and Glitter Punk are available at all New Balance Experience Stores island-wide and at https://shop.newbalance.com.sg
