Refresh tired-looking skin with these newest brightening skincare masks from Sulwhasoo, Laneige and For Beloved One.
Brightening skincare has been around for some 30 years. So it’s hard for us to get excited when another brightening product launches. These three new ones, however, say otherwise. An in-shower wash-off mask, a vitamin C update that’s more stable and a way to keep vitamin C fresh and potent – these are the three new ones to try:
Sulwhasoo Snowise Brightening Exfoliating Mask
Part scrub, part mask, this is a non-runny, honey-like gel that doesn’t dry or harden. Designed to go onto a clean, damp face, it is best used in the shower after washing your face, but before soaping your body. That’s because the mask needs five minutes to moisturise your skin before you do the scrubbing bit. Use two to three times a week.
$85 for a tub
For Beloved One Flawless Brightening Ethyl Ascorbic Acid Bio-Cellulose Mask
This has ethyl ascorbic acid, a more stable form of vitamin C that doesn’t break down readily when exposed to oxygen. Use this when you want instantly brighter skin or to reduce redness, once or twice a week.
$63 for a box of three
Laneige White Dew Vita Capsule Sleeping Mask
This comes in two parts: a sachet of powdered vitamin C (to keep the contents fresh) and a mini tub of gel-cream mask. To activate the vitamin C, mix the two.
$28 for a set of eight sachets and tubs
