How different or similar is golki therapy to tui na massages in traditional Chinese medicine?
Mr Lee: Tui na is a form of Chinese physical therapy that involves applying pressure to stimulate acupoints and meridians to remove blockages impeding the flow of the body’s qi, or “vital energy”.
While both tui na and golki treatments are applied through the use of massage techniques, the aim of tui na is to unblock the body’s acupoints, whereas the objective of golki therapy is to treat the bones, and in the process, promote overall health of the body. Golki is also able to enhance one’s muscles, skin and tissue through the massage techniques.
How different or similar is golki therapy to chiropractic treatments?
Mr. Lee: Golki therapy and chiropractic care are two completely different techniques where the approach of treatments for patients are also different. Chiropractic care mainly involves manipulation of the spine. On the other hand, golki therapy involves the deep, targeted massaging of the bones, tissues and skin.
Golki therapy techniques may be used on any part of the body that requires treatment. It not only improves your skeletal bone structure through unique bone massage techniques, but also increases the core blood circulation to your skin and muscles, leading to an improvement in general wellness and natural beauty. It is not solely focused on pain management.
How does golki therapy help to remodel one’s face without surgery?
Mr Lee: The aim of golki therapy is to provide our clients with a non-invasive option to meet their aesthetic goals. The human skull is made up of 22 inter-connected bones; an imbalance in one part will affect the rest of the bones in your face.
For instance, a protruding jaw causes the face to appear imbalanced, and this cannot be resolved by manipulating the muscles only. Treatments using golki therapy help to move the bones and alter one’s facial shape. In addition, the proprietary bone massage techniques of golki therapy leads to an increase in core blood circulation which helps to improve the supply of nutrients and removal of waste from the tissues. Mr Lee: Yes, the effects of golki therapy are permanent. Research has shown that visible and remarkable differences can be observed once you have completed the course of 20 treatments of golki therapy. Lifestyle changes and regular maintenance are also strongly recommended to maintain optimal results.
If you experience sudden weight changes of more or less than 4kg, you may need to go for an additional course of golki therapy treatment to restore your desired face shape.
