You only need two ingredients to whip up Berry’s DIY at-home face mask recipe.
Interrupting your day with important skin-care content courtesy of Halle Berry. The actress revealed “the secret” to her healthy skin and shared a DIY two-ingredient face mask recipe.
In a video on her Instagram, Berry introduces her esthetician Olga Lorencin, crediting Lorencin with helping her keep her skin in top shape. They run through an at-home facial treatment together, using two products from Lorencin’s skin-care line. Berry says that she starts by washing her face, noting that she uses Olga Lorencin Skin CarePurifying Gel Cleanser or Olga Lorencin Skin Care Rehydrating Cleanser when her skin is feeling dry. Lorencin stresses the importance of exfoliation in the quest for glowing skin, and Berry agrees that “relentlessly, religiously” exfoliating is of utmost importance.
Post-cleanse, Berry says she uses Olga Lorencin Skin Care Deep Detox Facial In a Box, which, according to Lorencin, helps treat congestion and even out skin tone. The at-home facial kit includes three steps: a peel with mandelic, phytic, and salicylic acids; a neutralizer; and a mask with ougon oil and charcoal. Judging by Berry’s experience, it’s strong for an at-home peel. She exclaimed “Oh my God!” and “This is hot!” while massaging in the neutralizer.
In case you don’t want to shell out on an at-home facial kit, Berry also shared Lorencin’s instructions for a two-ingredient mask that uses ingredients you likely already have in your kitchen. The recipe calls for 1 teaspoon of whole plain Greek yogurt and 1 teaspoon of honey, with optional additions. If you have dry skin, you can add a slice of avocado and a few drops of avocado oil, and if you’re prone to acne, you can add powdered charcoal and/or a few drops of chlorophyll. It doesn’t get much easier than mixing honey and yogurt, and both ingredients have benefits for the skin. Yogurt and honey both moisturize, while yogurt is a source of lactic acid.

This is an EXTRA special #SelfCareSunday, you know why? Because I’m finally introducing you to my ultimate skincare secret. Her name is @Olgalorencinskincare, and today? We’ll be showing a facial you can DIY with one of her at-home kits! During COVID I haven’t seen her in forever so I’m VERY excited. 😂 I definitely stand by the investment of Olga’s at home kits, BUT if you’re looking for a more affordable option? Olga loves a simple at-home recipe – 𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒: 1 tsp Full-Fat Greek Yogurt (vegan option = coconut yogurt) 1 tsp Honey For Dry Skin – add a slice of avocado + a few drops of avocado oil For Acneic Skin – add a bit of powdered charcoal. Option – add a few drops of Chlorophyll to fight breakouts and reduce inflammation 𝐃𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒: 1. Mix ingredients together into a bowl 2. Massage into clean skin (face AND neck) 3. Leave on for 15-20 minute Note: for best results, relax in the bath or in a steamy shower for 5-10 minutes before rinsing it off. This mask is rich in probiotics, which are very helpful with skin balancing and congestion. The honey is a natural humectant – it attracts water from the air to your skin. Enjoy and happy Sunday!! ☀️
Back in April, Berry shared another DIY face mask on the Instagram account for her digital wellness community, rē•spin, noting that it’s one of her favorites. It “brightens, tightens, reduces fine lines and enhances that natural glow,” wrote Berry.
You’ll need to mix together four ingredients for the mask: 2 tablespoons of brewed green tea, a pinch of turmeric powder, 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice, and 1/4 cup plain yogurt.

No better time than now for a #SelfCareSunday. Let’s rē•spin our skincare and #nourish our face and with one of @halleberry’s go-to at home face masks… 𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 • 2 tablespoons of brewed green tea • 1 pinch of turmeric powder • 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice • 1/4 cup of plain yogurt 𝐇𝐎𝗪 𝐓𝐎 𝐔𝐒𝐄 • Mix ingredients together and stir vigorously. • Apply a generous coat and leave on for 3 min. • Add a second coat and leave for 10 min. Rinse with cold water water and apply moisturizer per usual
If Berry’s stamp of approval doesn’t already have you running to your pantry, the benefits of each ingredient might. Green tea contains antioxidants that are especially potent when applied topically, so it’s used in skin-care to help fight free-radical damage to your skin’s natural oils. Lemon juice brings additional antioxidants, while turmeric is anti-inflammatory and can help brighten skin. (Disclaimer: Be sure to stick to the measurements on each, since turmeric can tint skin yellow and the acid in lemon juice can damage skin, Toral Patel, M.D., a dermatologist practicing in Chicago, previously told Shape.) Finally, the DIY mask’s yogurt can help soothe irritation.
For the full experience, you can incorporate either face mask into the four-step facial routine that Berry posted on her IGTV during one of her #FitnessFridays. In the video, Berry cleanses her skin with an electric face brush then uses Ole Henriksen Pore-Balance Facial Sauna Scrub. Step three is a face mask — Berry uses Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 Mask in the IGTV post, but this is probably where her turmeric mask comes in on DIY days. Last but not least, she moisturizes with the Lactic Acid Hydrating Serum from Lorencin’s line.
If you want to copy Berry’s 4-step routine without shelling out on her products, scan the ingredient lists on your skin-care products for lactic acid. Berry mentions in the video that she likes the ingredient because it sloughs away dead skin cells. It’s in her serum and scrub of choice, and it’s naturally occurring in the yogurt element of her DIY recipe.
