Our beauty writer’s review of this popular Skin Inc facial.
I love going for long, pampering facials and massages as much as the next beauty junkie, but sometimes you just need a quick fix and you want results fast. And let’s face it, with our packed schedules these days, it’s not always possible to spend a leisurely one or two hours at the spa. Enter the Skin Inc Facial in a Flash treatment that promises to give you a glow in just 20 minutes. Say what? It sounded too good to be true until I tried it out for myself. Deets below. I got to try Facial in a Flash at Skin Inc’s new store in Vivocity. The entire facial can be done at the counter so you won’t have to change out or use the spa cabin.
Skin Inc is known for their customisable skincare, so the facial experience isn’t any different. Before beginning any treatment, you’ve got to do a Skin Identity Check – kind of like a quiz – to determine what your skin needs are. Based on the results, your therapist will prepare the most suitable serums and masks for you to use.
At Skin Inc, they follow a three-part regime when it comes to skincare: prep, nourish, seal and optimise. To prep skin, your therapist will cleanse off any makeup or sunscreen you have on and apply the Pure Revival Peel. This gentle peel helps to slough away dead skin cells to reveal a brighter and smoother complexion.
Next, your therapist will nourish your skin with a mix of three of the Skin Inc serums. In my concoction, I got the French pine bark serum to protect my skin against free radical damage, collagen serum to promote skin elasticity and hyaluronic acid serum to hydrate my parched complexion. This was enhanced with their new hydrogel sheet masks to lock in moisture and nutrients. After applying the masks, my therapist also used the Skin Inc Optimizer Voyager Tri-Light device to help the products penetrate deeper into my skin. It felt like I was getting a mini massage, and I’d probably have been lulled to sleep if I were lying down.
As promised, my skin was softer and looked noticeably more radiant after the treatment. I also felt refreshed after the pampering. If you’re looking for a lunchtime skin treat or need a quick fix to prep for an event, give the Skin Inc Facial In A Flash a go. You can opt for the 20min session ($45) which I tried, or the 30min session ($65) that comes with a neck and shoulder massage.
