You don’t need a special toner or mist with ingredients that do anything extra. A basic thermal spring water will do the trick when it comes to cooling down your skin. They’re easily available from Watsons or Guardian in small travel size aerosol cans. You can spray it on a bare face or over makeup, just remember to blot off the excess with a tissue so it doesn’t air-dry on your skin and cause dehydration.
If you’re going to be in the sun, the last thing you want to forget is sunscreen. We might be more conscientious about using SPF on our faces, but we often forget about the rest of our body. Carrying around an emergency supply of SPF will save you from lots of headache in the long run, especially when it comes to dark spots or even skin cancer! Biore has one that comes in a small, handy aerosol bottle.
Tinted lip balm
The heat can be extremely dehydrating, and the first place that shows signs of dehydration tends to be your lips. A lip balm will keep your lips moisturised, and the tint is great for fuss-free touch ups when you need to look presentable.
Blotting paper or powder
If you’ve got normal to oily skin, and get a bit shiny throughout the day, a quick blot can get your makeup looking almost as good as new again. It’s perfect for when you’re going from the office to dinner without time to touch up, or have a last minute meeting to attend. It’s easy to carry around and the one thing that keeps you from looking like a greasy mess.
Even if you aren’t planning on wiping off all your makeup, face wipes are so handy for cleaning up smudges or messy lipstick lines on the go. They are also great for cooling down as well when the heat turns you into a hot sweaty mess and you’re nowhere near a shower. I keep a packet on me all the time, though I prefer to take off my makeup completely and just slap on sunscreen if the makeup is looking a little melted. There are some brands with as few as 10 sheets in a packet so it won’t take up too much space in your bag.
