Porcelain Origins’ fourth store is Singapore’s first smart spa that is complete with interactive screens, a personalised app and a cafe.
Local beauty brand Porcelain is has launched its latest store. In contrast to the cosy boutique environments of earlier outlets at Tanjong Pagar Center and Cantonment Road, the new offshoot at Paragon is a 3,450sqft compound that’s buzzing with new innovative features – it’s also being marketed as Singapore’s first smart spa. Founder Pauline Ng said that this idea was born during the search for a better, more seamless customer service process. You’ll just need to download their app to kick start the process!
Interactive shopping experience
The store greets its customers with its cafe and the product shopping area. Those who dislike having customer service staff hovering at your back will love the product discovery bar, which has an interactive screen allowing you to read about products at your leisure. When you pick up an item, its description will appear on the screen above it. You are also able to scan your face to find out your skin condition and skincare routine’s effectiveness.
High-tech consultation process
Before your treatment, you’ll be brought into one of the two consultation rooms that are equipped with touchscreen tabletops. Here, you get a complete overview of your profile, including a visual representation of your skin condition and the recommended products and treatments – prices included for full transparency.
Your suggested skincare routine will also be generated and displayed with full product descriptions and instructions, down to how many pumps of a product you should use. If you’re someone who finds it hard to keep track of your spa visits, you’ll be able to view your past, current and future appointments at a glance. Using the phone app, you are able to access the same information on top of booking new appointments and buying products.

Unique nature-inspired rooms
To help its customers escape the bustling crowd of Singapore, especially in the Orchard area, all 14 rooms are shophouse-themed with cosy lighting and traditional windows. Each room also has a different painting that stretches to the ceiling for visual interest.

Three new IPL treatments
Porcelain Origins has also created three new ZapZap IPL treatments ($321 for a 45-minute session) featuring the latest technology from Spain. Most IPL treatments use blue or green light to treat acne, but these machines pair blue light with red light for faster recovery. From rejuvenating skin and lightening pigments to eliminating acne and removing excess sebum, these treatments are designed to give you brighter, smoother, and more even skin.
The ZitZap uses blue light to eliminate bacteria and reduce inflammation, the ZapGlow uses yellow light to stimulate collagen repair, and the ZapBright uses yellow light to break down and disperse melanin.
After the treatment, you can visit the powder room to freshen up and interact with the smart mirror. It connects to the app to display your profile and you will be able to choose your post-treatment tea that complements your treatment. The screen also recaps your treatment’s benefits and post-care tips.
Even if you’re not due for a facial, you can check into its 30-seater cafe at any time. Here, you’ll find healthy light snacks, beverages, and custom-blended smoothies – all good for your skin.
