1. Apply the right concealer, right
Not only do the tones and coverage of your concealer matter, the way you apply it does, too. Since crow’s feet tend to angle down, apply concealer in an upward motion.
Your brows frame your face, and doing them right wins you half the battle. Full, thick brows may be all the rage, but perhaps less achievable if your brows are thinning. Instead, opt for whatever complements your face, be it a rounder arch or a longer tail.
3. Opt for a cream blush
Opt for a cream blush rather than a powder one for a more radiant glow. Your skin tends to become drier as you age, and powder products will only accentuate this.
4. And matte eyeshadows
Shimmery eyeshadows highlight your wrinkles instead of masking them. Instead, go for matte shadows which blend nicely into your skin and camouflage fine lines.
5. Don’t be afraid of colour
Neutrals are always a safe choice, but they can down you down. If you’re feeling adventurous, adding a pop of colour can change your whole look. Bright eyeshadow, for instance, adds youth to your face. Choose a shade that’s the opposite of your eye colour – brown eyes with blues and greens, grey eyes with purple, and such.
6. Use mascara that’s waterproof
And curl your lashes to lift your eyes. The waterproof mascara holds the curl better than non-waterproof ones.
7. Choose the right lippie shade
Matte and dark coloured lipsticks can draw attention to the thinning of or the fine lines around your lips. Try mauves or pinks – these define your lips while adding a youthful rosiness to your lips. Dab some Vaseline or shiny lip gloss on the middle of your lower lip to give the appearance of fuller lips.
8. Most importantly, go easy!
Overly made-up skin is a guaranteed way to looking a lot older than you actually are. Embrace your unique beauty!
