Reapplying your lipstick after every sip of water can be a chore. Reduce the number of touch ups you need with these simple hacks.
Use a gentle lip scrub to remove the dead skin from your lips. Your lips will be softer and smoother so it’ll be easier to apply your lipstick and it’ll stay on longer too. You can even make your own lip scrub by gently rubbing sugar and water on your lips.
A lip primer gives you a smooth and even base to work on. Just like the primer for your face, the lip primer will help to keep your lip colour on longer. Plus, your lipstick will be brighter and more eye-popping too.
Line your lips with a lip pencil. Besides helping your lipstick stay on longer, it prevents the colour from bleeding too. This is especially useful if you plan to wear a darker lip colour. Choose a neutral colour lip liner or one that is a shade darker than your natural lip colour.
After applying a layer of lipstick, blot off the excess with a tissue. This helps to remove any excess oil on your lips. After blotting, apply another layer of lipstick.
Put a very thin layer of translucent powder over your lips after applying lipstick. This helps to mattify and lock your lip colour in place. You won’t have to touch up as often with this trick.
