Your healthy alternative to chicken nuggets.
Let’s be honest here, nuggets are some of the yummiest treats around, but they’re sadly also one of the worst ones out there. The normal pre-made nuggets you’d get from the frozen food aisle or fast food chains are usually chock-full of preservatives, fat and artificial flavours.
So, what’s a girl to do if you want to satisfy a craving for these comforting morsels? Easy – whip up your own nugget alternative with this quick and healthy recipe. The chicken dippers are every bit as tasty, just minus the bad stuff. The best part: You only need four ingredients! Recipe courtesy of Lorna Jane.
4-Ingredient Chicken Dippers
PREP TIME: 5 MINUTES
COOKING TIME: 12 MINUTES
400 grams chicken breast, cut into slices
½ cup quinoa
2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
Preheat the oven to 180 deg C, and line one baking tray. In a separate tray, pour in the quinoa, yeast and paprika and mix until combined. Add in the chicken strips and coat evenly in the mixture, transferring them to the lined tray once coated. Once all strips have been coated, place in the oven and cook for 12 minutes, or until chicken is cooked. Remove from oven to lightly cool, season and serve with your favourite dipping sauce.
