Instead of always going for their crustacean cousins, try whipping up a dish of molluscs instead. Pooja Vig, nutritional therapist at The Nutrition Clinic, has three tips for buying shellfish:
1. Make sure they shut tight when tapped and have no holes on their shells.
2. Skip those that are too light or heavy as they may be empty or filled with sand.
3. They should smell like the sea, not fishy or pungent.
