There are plenty of races in Singapore, but none of them is quite as exciting as Shape Run 2018. Find out what’s in store for Shape Run participants this year.
As the first all-women’s race in Singapore, Shape Run is an annual event that many women look forward to – including us, of course! We train months in advance for a better race timing, or to achieve personal goals that we have set for ourselves. For some, participating in Shape Run has become a tradition with their sisters, mothers and best friends, bonding over fitness and the many fun fringe activities available.
In case you haven’t heard, Shape Run 2018 will be happening on August 19 at Gardens By the Bay East for its 13th edition. On top of the best race pack ever, as well as an all-new finisher’s medal worth running for, here are more things to look forward to as we countdown to D-day.

There will be an all-female pacer team
If you feel self-conscious or distracted when men are around, good news: This year’s pacer squad is an all-female team ready to encourage and empower fellow women, leading a 60-minute, 70-minute and 80-minute pace in the 10km category. Nothing planned on July 14 and 28? Join them for a training run at Sports Hub. You’ll learn about running techniques and other nifty tips to stay injury free when you run. The 3 x 5km relay is back again
Ran the inaugural Shape Run Squad Relay in 2017? Make it a tradition and do it again this year! Together with your dream team, the three of you will each take turns to run 5km, passing the baton from one to the other before completing 15km as a team. Now that’s what we call #squadgoals!
The new Finisher’s Medal is worth running for
Upon crossing the finish line, all runners will receive a Finisher’s Medal. And this year’s medal is a must-have. Sporting the new Shape Run logo that represents two halves of a running track, the gorgeous heart-shaped medals come in various colour combinations of pink, yellow, blue and orange for the four respective categories. Did we mention that the heart-shaped logo of the medal can spin too? Stay tuned to our Facebook and Instagram accounts – we’ll be sharing pictures of the actual medal very soon.
Receive a personalised cert that you can frame up
Similar to previous years, your personalised certificates will come with a section where you’ll be able to insert your own glamour shot – a wonderful keepsake for the occasion.
