Dr.Stretch has qualified staff who are trained to stretch your deepest, tightest muscles.
Stretching isn’t supposed to be painful; neither should it be a walk in the park.
If you think you have hit a plateau, where you aren’t gaining flexibility despite your stretching efforts, or find it tough to stretch, there’s hope yet.
Sign up to be stretched by an experienced trainer at Dr.Stretch, an open-concept store that specialises in – what else – stretching.
Founded by a Japanese baseball trainer, Dr.Stretch has outlets in Japan, China and Singapore (Suntec City Mall and Nex), offering personalised stretch sessions that aim to improve sports performance, rehabilitation, posture and general well-being.
Think of this as a massage session, where you lie on a bed and receive treatment that has your limbs being pulled and bent in multiple directions. The session involves stretching beyond the superficial muscles to get into the deep layer of muscles that an ordinary massage can’t access.
The goal is for you to feel relaxed and rejuvenated, as though you’re in the body of a 10-year-old. When we were done, we felt great all over. And if it weren’t for the fact that we had to head back to the office, we would have gone home and straight into the bed!
Before stretching, you’ll be asked to share any problem or injured areas. Then, all you need to do is relax, and alert the trainer if any move feels beyond your comfort level. Some regular customers are so used to the motions, they sleep through the whole thing!
Tee shirts and pants are provided, and customers are advised to have their meals at least two hours before the treatment.
Prices range from $110 for one hour to $190 for two hours; packages are available. First-timers will enjoy a complimentary 20-minute session. An advanced booking is required.
