The Shape Run is open to all women aged 14 (as at Dec 31, 2012) and above only.
SHAPE RUN 2013 is organised by SPH Magazines Pte Ltd (referred herein as the "Organiser") in accordance
with these Rules & Regulations that is applicable to the Participants, which can be found at www.shape.com.sg
("Official Website").Whilst all reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organiser to ensure the safety of
the participants, the Organiser will not be liable for any loss or damage, whether personal or otherwise, and
howsoever arising. The participant understands that she is running at her own risk.
No pets or any wheel-run objects of transport, eg. In-line skates, rollers, push-chairs, are allowed on the course.
Participants must retire immediately if required to do so by any member of the official medical staff. All participants must obey the officials on duty along the
route if they are asked to run on the footpath if required to do so, once the roads reopen.
Participants who are walking are required to keep to the left side of the lane so as not to cause obstruction to other runners.
All entry forms/registration must be properly completed and submitted according with all
details required to be clearly indicated. Completion of the entry form evidences the participant's
agreement to abide by the Rules and Regulations. These Rules and Regulations shall apply at all
times and may be subject to the Organiser's final interpretation, at its absolute discretion.
In addition, the Organiser reserves the absolute right to amend the Rules and Regulations from time to time.
If the Participant provides any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, or if the Organiser has grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, the Organiser may suspend or terminate
the Participant's registration and refuse any and all future use of the Official Website (or any parts thereof).
All participants must submit their entries and payment online through the website http://www.shape.com.sg. Late entries will not be entertained.
Successful participants will receive a confirmation slip with a serial number via e-mail upon payment.
Once the registration has been duly processed, there will be no refunds to the participant should she not take part in the Run for whatever reason or should the event be cancelled for reasons including but not limited to any weather conditions and air pollution (haze). The decision of the Organiser shall be final.
The Organiser will not be responsible for any dispute or rejected entry arising from incomplete entry details or payment transaction.
Participants are not allowed to change race categories after registration.
Registration closes as soon as the maximum number of slots has been filled.
The Organiser reserves the right to refuse any entries.
For any change of category, an administrative fee of $10 shall apply.
The Organiser reserves the right to cancel or postpone SHAPE RUN 2013 at any time without prior notice to the Participant, in which case they will make an effort to inform the Participant prior to the date of the event. If SHAPE RUN 2013 has to be cancelled or postponed, there shall be no refund of registration fees paid and the Organiser shall not be liable for any other loss or inconvenience caused.
Race Pack Collection, Number Bibs, Timing Device, Gifts, Prizes and Certificates
All race pack collection consisting of a number bib, a timing device and a runner's tee will only be
issued between June 21-23, 2013 from 11am to 8pm at Shape Run Carnival, Marina Square Central Atrium Level 2,
upon producing the Confirmation Slip bearing the confirmation number together with the runner's identity card
or passport at designated counters. Requests to collect the race pack after June 23, 2013, 8pm will not be entertained.
Number bibs with the timing device attached must be worn on the front. The number tags should not be folded.
The number bibs are not transferable. No runners will be allowed on the course without the number bibs. Winners in all categories will have their prizes forfeited should they be found to be using another participant's number bib.
Gifts (including Runners' Kit) will be issued during the Shape Run Carnival to the participants together with the race pack collection. Absentees will forfeit their entitlements.
The Organiser reserves the right to replace the race entitlement with items of similar value without assigning any reasons thereof.
All unclaimed prizes, Runners' Kits and gifts will be disposed at the absolute discretion of the Organiser.
Prizes will be awarded to the top 10 finishers of the 5km & 10km Individual Categories.
The Organiser reserves the right to amend the SHAPE Run 2013 race routes as they deem fit for the safety of the Participants and/or to prevent any potential hazards in the running of the event, at any time without prior notice to the Participant. In such cases, every effort will be made to inform the Participant prior to the date of the event. The Organiser shall not be liable for any other loss or inconvenience caused due to such changes.
Participants must wear their assigned race bib on his/her chest at all times during the race. Participants without the allocated race bib will not be allowed to take part in the race.
The Organiser reserves the right to delay the commencement of the run in the event of inclement weather. Should the inclement weather persist after the delay, the Organiser reserves the right to cancel the race without refund of registration fees.
The "Gun Time" will be considered to determine the winners for competitive categories. Gun time is the time from the start signal until the runner crosses the finish line.
For appeal over disputes, prize winners or possible prize winners, must be present and made on-site in person to the race officials, within 30 minutes from the prize presentation, whichever is earlier. All appeals are subjected to a non-refundable appeal fee. The Organiser's decision is final and reserves the right not to entertain any appeals after 7 July 2013.
The Organiser reserves the rights to replace any winners if he/she is found to be disqualified.
Participants who do not start within 30 minutes from their respective flag off point will be disqualified and for safety reasons, may not be allowed to start.
No pets, or any form of wheel-run objects of transport e.g. inline skates, prams, push cars, shoes with built-in or attached rollers is allowed on the course during the race except official race and medical vehicles.
While baggage deposit services are provided on the race day, the Organiser will not be held responsible for any loss and/or damage, personal or otherwise, to the belongings and items deposited. The Organiser also reserves the right to check any item or baggage deposited.
For 2.4km Fun Run Category
The running distance for the Fun Run category is 2.4km only. Each participant is limited to only one stroller and one child only. Age of child must be below 5 years old.
Participants are to bring along their own stroller.
For the safety of everyone, the child must be secured comfortably in the stroller throughout the race.
Participants must be medically fit for the race. This category is open to women with accompanying children only.
Registration fee is the same.
The participant shall register online together as a single entry. The child's name and age must be included during registration. Changes cannot be made after the registration.
Participants' failure to observe the rules and regulations may result in disqualification.
The Organiser reserves the rights to the photographs or recordings, or any other record of this event for any legitimate purposes including commercial advertising.
The Organiser reserves the right to amend the Rules and Regulations without giving prior notification or any reasons thereof.
Change in sizes during the collection of tee is strictly NOT allowed. Participants must adhere to the sizes that they have registered for.
Safety & Medical Advisory
Whilst reasonable precautions will be taken by the Organiser to ensure the safety of participants, participants take part at their own risks and the Organiser, their sponsors and their appointed officials shall not be liable for any death or injury, loss or damage, suffered or otherwise, and howsoever arising..
The Organiser reserves the right to remove any participant deemed physically incapable of continuing with the run to prevent him/her from causing greater harm and injury to himself/herself.
Participants are strongly encouraged to go for a medical examination and/ or consult their medical practitioner prior to registration and before the actual race day.
For the safety of participants, participants are advised to run on the designated route and observe traffic regulations.
