ZigTech footwear
In 2010, Reebok introduced ZigTech – the brand’s most technically advanced running and training technology, which helps reduce muscle activation in the shins. Today, Reebok introduces ZigNano, a new lower-profile version of ZigTech technology. The first ZigNano model is ZigFly, a lighter shoe that combines ZigNano’s energy return technology with the brand’s Premier Running line of footwear. The result is a running shoe for performance runners that sets Reebok apart from the competition.
Both of Reebok’s ZigTech technologies, ZigTech and ZigNano, are designed to return energy during running and training. The unique bottom units feature innovative, lightweight foam that is engineered into a dramatic, geometric, zig-zag shape. This zig-zag shaped sole absorbs the impact of heel strike and sends a wave of energy along the length of the shoe helping to propel the athlete forward with each step. With ZigNano, Reebok has adjusted the original ZigTech technology and created a lower profile bottom unit.
The first ZigNano model, ZigFly, offers runners a perfect combination of energy return, cushioning and responsiveness. In addition to the ZigNano cushioning technology, the ZigFly also features an articulated plate that ensures a smooth heel strike for an improved and more stable ride, a PU Foam insert in the forefoot for improved cushioning at toe-off, and carbon rubber outsole lugs for increased durability in key wear areas. The ZigFly also includes Reebok’s proprietary StableFit technology in the heel, a memory foam package that provides excellent rear-foot fit and support for a more stable ride.
ZigTech apparel
Reebok extends its popular ZigTech line with ZigTech apparel. ZigTech apparel, engineered with Celliant™, creates an increase in oxygen levels on an average of 7%.
Celliant™ fibers used in ZigTech apparel are specially-formulated technical performance fibers that are knit or woven into fabrics. Products containing Celliant have been clinically proven to enhance oxygen levels in the body. Celliant fibers are created using a collection of optically responsive natural minerals that get infused into polyester fibers.
Reebok’s Bill McInnis, who heads up the Advanced Concepts team that created ZigTech says, “The great thing about ZigTech apparel is that while the technology is highly technical, the consumer benefit is every athlete needs – more oxygen.”
Reebok’s ZigTech apparel is not only effective but also versatile and durable, perfect for running or training activities in all environments and weather. ZigTech apparel is perfect for both in-gym and out-of-gym training, and can be layered in cooler weather without diminishing the effectiveness of Celliant fibers. In addition, ZigTech apparel is a fiber technology so it cannot be washed out and will not wear out, lasting for the full life of the garment.
How Celliant® Works:
1. Celliant® fibers are specially formulated from natural minerals and blended with polyester fibers. These are then knit or woven into every piece of ZigTech apparel.2. When worn,Celliant® absorbs and stores energy emitted from the body.
3. Celliant® then releases them, where they are reabsorbed into the skin and deep muscle tissues.
4. The recycled energy triggers natural biological reactions in the body, resulting in increased blood flow and enhanced oxygen levels.
ZigTech footwear retails at $149 each. All Reebok ZigTech apparel and footwear are available at Stadium and Royal Sporting House stores.

Fitness Tips to help you to be ready for the run:
- Buddy upWorking out with a friend is a great way to stick with a fitness routine. Meet each other for a run in the morning or take an aerobics class after work. Just make sure you partner up with a pal you can count on to push you and help you reach your goals.
- Change your scenery.Workouts getting a little boring? Trade the treadmill for some new terrain and explore a great path in your neighborhood. Tired of running? Go for a long hike or a swim. A new environment can breathe some fresh air into your routine.
- Make prime time your prime time.Instead of taking a seat on the sofa, find a spot on the floor and concentrate on strength training during the half-hour episode. Side crunches and leg lifts will help tone your core without blocking your view of the tube. At a commercial, take your heart rate up a notch with sets of jumping jacks, lunges and push-ups. You'll stay caught up on your favorite shows and your fitness routine.
- Move it.Something is ALWAYS better than nothing. Missed your workout? Get in at least 10 minutes. Pop in a DVD and get in a quickie, turn up your favorite tunes and dance around, re-create something from your favorite exercise class, climb the stairs or take a quick trip around the block.
- Optimize your playlist.Music has an amazing power to pump us up and get us going. Rather than relying on shuffle to get you through a workout, organize your songs carefully. Put your favorite songs at the beginning, middle and toward the end of the time you'll be working out to motivate you. Change it up every week by adding new songs or switching Mp3 players with a friend.
