  • Brown rice VS white rice
1 / 6 Brown rice VS white rice

We are all familiar with this eat-healthy drill: Choose more whole grains, and less refined ones.

That message got entrenched further recently when Prime Minister Lee dedicated a third of his National Day Rally speech to the war against diabetes. Among other things, he advocated Singaporeans to switch from white rice to brown rice, at least partially if not fully.

Here’s the deal about brown rice: It is a whole grain, which means it contains more fibre to slow down digestion, keeping you full for longer. It’s also less sugar-concentrated than white rice, so your blood sugar level won’t spike as much.

With more restaurants and eateries offering brown rice dishes, eating whole grains is easier than you think. Add these five yummy dishes to your eat list. They are also available from Deliveroo’s Healthier Choices menu.
